School Population Crisis?

Over the past year we have heard countless times that the vast majority of our county schools are overcrowded. We can leave the current Student-to-Teacher ratio for a broader conversation, but what we can't ignore is that a huge tax increase was recently implement primarily for a single school in a single district? If the school district that is getting a new >$100,000,000 school is worthy...what about the schools in the 1st District? We have been told that these schools are nearing overcrowded conditions, so from where is the money going to be appropriated to support infrastructure growth here in the 1st District?

If the county is growing at the rate previously mentioned then what would have been wrong with conducting a comprehensive study of ALL schools versus just dumping the vast majority of the money from the tax increase into one school near an already existing school?

  • Our teachers deserve better
  • The taxpayers deserve a REAL plan
  • Our children deserve a bright future and a future that includes allowing them to be able to afford to live in Loudon County after graduation.
  • ALL schools in Loudon County deserve the same consideration as those in just one district.
